Waited in line to get into the Infield
Every motor home entering the infield gets inspected, inside and out
Heading into the tunnel. Yes, we passed inspection! Even the K-9's let us in.
Papa Joe has already begun to relax...here he is hanging out with our neighbor Doug and his buddy. The guy on the far right was worried that his reputation would be hurt because he was drinking water.
His wife is arriving tonite. He admitted he was detoxing prior to welcoming her. Alot of action on the track right now..I was surprised...seeing familiar numbers on cars, but the car colors were different. And the speed seemed much slower.
Well, it is. It is the Richard Petty driving experience. And for only $500.00 you too could drive 8 laps around the track. I am still afraid of the high banks, I fear I would slide off. Plus, since I have the attention span of a gnat, I might wreck one of The King's fine race cars!
Busses....not exclusive to Michigan after all!
The view from the infield across Lake Lloyd.
Cleaning the grandstands...guess this will be a constant job
Remember how I love the laundry in Italy? Well, not here....just not feeling it.
Die Hard NASCAR fans have their patio ready...
It is all beginning!!!
New to the infield this year, food vendors and this bar...yep, Papa Joe checking it out. let's hope he doesn't want to start his own travel bar. You never know!!!
Oh, Daytona!
