Fish and friends

Papa Joe was getting things ready at the farm for the fish fry...and took Scout and Harry with him. Scout ended up in the fire pit scavenging for food...so, bath time for her. As a result she did not make the traveling team for the evening.


Yep, Henry helped!


While Finley and I watched "Pine Woman", (Pioneer Woman)..Finley's favorite show...go figure.


The farm was decorated and ready....


Papa Joe's sisters Judy and Nancy arrived...

In spite of the rain we had a huge turnout!

Madeline and Colin..catching up on old times....they used to walk to grade school together....we could never figure out why they wanted to leave so early...until the day I busted them, sitting on the curb outside of the neighborhood gas station eating vending machine donuts and drinking a soda!

Hello Friday!

I took Finley to the hair salon....she was as good as gold while I got my hair cut...but she wanted to join in the fun...


So Susan cut her hair also!


Sally was in a pageant at school....doesn't she look precious????


Our thespian!!! Out, out damn spot perhaps? No, somehow doubt it...but come on, it looks a little "McBeth-y"


We spent time at the farm getting ready for the fish fry.....


We are ready...let's hope the rain holds off!

Well, it really was pretty....trust me. Ted, the manager, likes us, so we got this great dessert...gratis...yep, we are special!


The evening continued at Casablanca where Dale Blue was performing....sorry Finley. Here are the backs of Shells and Papa Joe on their way to the dance floor. Oh yea, I had already been there with Shells! Yep, a dancing fool I am.


Meanwhile, Adria and Madeline were braving the cold weather at Octoberfest. Perhaps the massive stein of beer kept them warm???


Mad's night continued uptown with Jake.
The next day...a beautiful fall day at the lake...


The lonely pool deck after I put the furniture away for the winter. Yes, I said after I put it away...stud muffin Mary carried it all up two levels...impressed? Well, why not? I am! Meanwhile, Papa Joe...


Planting grass seed. And just why is it called planting? He just pushed the whirligig thing and let the seed fall where it may.... And meanwhile I was doing the HEAVY lifting!!


But I had a great view across the lake....


And my geraniums....still going strong...in October!


My hydrangeas....still pretty....just getting tired.

A week in review...

I went back to my old neighborhood, which is not unusual, since I only live 2 blocks from there....but I was visiting my friend Sue and just happened to gaze upon my former neighbors front stoop...


Nope, not early for the Holiday season, this is last Christmas....looks like the holidays threw up in her yard, and she left it...all year....

Judy, Jared and I went to a conference in Bloomington...


Anna joined us for dinner. I walked into the men's restroom and wondered why Jared was there...realized it was me who was in the wrong place....again...

we took a road trip to Versailles, Missouri to Apple Fest...

Papa Joe's apple pie...(purchased...) good, but he says it does not compare to the one Jennifer made him....he is still waxing poetic about that one!!!


There he is, Papa Joe going to make another gourmet purchase....and yes, they were fresh cooked....now he has a tummy ache.
