A day in Michigan....

This morning we continued our redecorating mode at the cottage...we walked to town and looked in the antique stores...

Ran into our friend Marilyn at the Blue Moon....

Made reservations for dinner tonight...
After lunch we returned to town to make some purchases for the cottage...great bargains...great finds.. But first, we had to make a delivery to Good Will to unload some cottage crud...

Then filled the car with our newfound treasures...

Yep, old oars and a barn lantern

Just wait you see...

Looking good!!!!!! Then we decided to see what was under our ceiling tiles....

Beaded Board and beams under the support. Guess what our next project is???? It is going to be AMAZING!!!!!
Speaking of amazing....we toured Aunt Nancy's re-model at her adorable cottage and were even more inspired...

We all want to sit on the porch with her...

Have you EVER seen a cuter kitchen pantry door?

Old gym baskets in the bathroom, not only functional, but darling...

Mr. Deal made the coat rack...out of old railroad spikes from the track that ran through here...The Dummy Train used to haul sand through here many years ago. Not only functional, but useful and beautiful...loaded with sentiment and history

Nan did not miss a trick. Her cottage is darling. Only thing missing? a room for me!!! BIG news...Nan's son Brad just got invited to the Red Wing's Rookie Camp...HUGE!!! Go Brad!
THE event of the afternoon...Frog, Toad and Turtle Races.

Millie and Sue delivering the athletes...Finley and Carter's 3 turtles. NO WAY was I touching them. NO WAY.

Baby WeeWee and Carter getting ready...

anticipation and ice cream...

Trying to get Finley to make a friend....

On your mark....

Come on!!!!!

Race....!!! Oops, one got smushed!!! Disgusting!

Turtle time!

a first place ribbon!!!

Letting the athletes go after the race!!!! Bye Bye!

No swimming?

so, my granddaughter cannot swim in Jacksonville right now...you know, water issues? The Y pool remains closed...but sweet Finley wanted to swim...so Uncle Harmy improvised.....

Redneck? heck yes! A farmers daughter...absolutely! A happy girl! And no, we are not violating water conservation in Jacksonville....Michigan water!!! And it is CLEAN!!!

Millie and Maggie re-decorating..or something!

Location:Ludington, Michigan

In residence

I cannot describe it, can't even begin to explain it, so I will simply show you some reasons why this truly is my favorite place on earth....

Cottages on the beach

The views...

The flowers

The lake

Get it??

We set out early this morning on a walk...Henry has his new shoes on....

Fear not...he did not walk...

Got a Mama ride

We saw Annie at work....she is second from the left....we really were not at all sure what she was doing...

We walked past the gum tree, a time honored tradition here. Generations of children have attached their chewing gum here...I know, gross. But also kind of cool! oh, come on, it is a TRADITION!!!!

New kitchen...in love!!!

If you see Nancy Schultz, tell her how much you love the fabrics....she did a great job selecting them!!!
Thinking of Papa Joe, we went to North side market and discovered a new delicacy...

And lots of meat.... Almost as good as The Butcher Shop

Sue found a new favorite place... No, not the meat counter...but...

A Beer Cave...

And a little something for Maggie...

And for me? Reconnecting with old friends....

Baby Weewee (Kelsey)' Mary, Henry and Millie... Time for the beach!!
